Celina Tent hosted their 2nd Annual Celina Expo at our location in Celina, OH on October 10, 2007. Attendees were treated to tours of our facility, as well as hands on demonstrations provided by Celina Tent vendors and staff. Demonstrations included Vinyl and Grommet Repair, Tent Cleaning, Tent Squaring, and Proper Tent Staking Techniques. Guests were treated to a buffet lunch, door prizes, fun filled contests, and a wide variety of product displays. Special discount opportunities were also offered on selected items and available only to attendees of the Expo. In addition, attendees were given the opportunity to purchase many of the tents on display via sealed bid auction.
Due to the great success and tremendous response we received from this year’s event, we are excited to announce that we have selected the date for next years Expo. The 2008 Celina Expo and Open House will be held on October 1, 2008 at our facility. Plans are in the works to make next year’s event even bigger and better.

Back by popular demand is our Tent Race: Participants will be timed on installing a Pinnacle Cross Cable Tent. Hoosier Tent won the 2007 competition with a record time of 3 Minutes 10 Seconds. They received a 15’ x 15’ Pinnacle Cross Cable Tent for their winning effort.

On October 18th, 2006 Celina Tent held its first annual Celina Expo at our location in Celina, OH. We were blessed with good weather and a great turnout and the day was a huge success. Many existing and potential new customers attended the day’s events and were awarded with a quality and fun filled learning experience.
This event sparked a new tradition for Celina Tent and we are busy working to make this year’s event better. The major unknown for last year’s event was the number of participants to expect that day. This is where you can help us get ready for our 2007 Celina Expo.

On December 6, 2006 Celina Tent, Inc. received a requisition from the US Department of Defense/Defense Logistics Agency for 1,200 rapid deployment shelters / humanitarian tents. Celina’s rapid deployment shelter is a general purpose non-tactical shelter designed to offer an economical solution for humanitarian aid in the event of a natural disaster or conflict worldwide. Celina’s 16’ x 16’ shelters are designed to withstand high winds and includes a vented roof, vented sidewalls, and a floor. General purposes include: Medical facilities, billeting, field services, and storage.
The shelters are manufactured at Celina Tent’s facility in Celina, Ohio. Traditionally, Celina Tent, Inc./Celina Industries core business is the manufacturing and distribution of tents, accessories, and products for the event & hospitality industries. CELINA — A small, family-owned tent manufacturing company is expanding after its bid to enter the military & humanitarian tent market resulted in a $3.3 million order. Celina Tent is ramping up to fill a U.S. Department of Defense - Defense Logistics Agency order for 1,200 rapid-deployment shelters, said Janice Grieshop, who co-founded the company with husband Herb in 1996.
“It’s a huge impact on our business. We’re looking probably to put on 15 to 20 (full-time) employees” and expand the company’s facilities, she said Monday.
The Mercer County company had about 35 employees in November 2005 when it learned it was one of several companies approved for an indefinite-delivery contract. The shelters will be manufactured at Celina Tent’s state of the art heat-sealing, hot air, and RF welding facility in Celina, Ohio. Traditionally Celina Tent, Inc. / Celina Industries core business is the manufacturing and distribution of tents, accessories, and products for the event & hospitality industries. Celina Tent, Inc. has been in business for 10 years and is a women owned small business.
The DLA initially guaranteed a minimum order of $25,000. It placed an order for 10 tents in August, then followed up with the much larger order this month, Grieshop said.
Unlike the party tents, tables, chairs, linens, heaters, and other event products the company previously specialized in, the 16-by-16 foot humanitarian tent shelters have full walls, floors, screened opening and stove vents, Grieshop said.
